Get Off The Couch!

Get moving, get off the couch!

Body and mind are connected. If you abuse your body, your mind cannot function properly.

An inspiring story from the Globe & Mail on children and fitness.

Excellent!

Going Out For Japanese Food?

Make sure you ask about those funny named rolls, OK?

Hint: Crazy Japanese Eunuch Testicle Rolls are actually, well, just that.

Europeans And South Africans Hate Jews More Than Palestinians?

Wow. Just wow.

Read this article.

It's kind of astounding if you think about it that Europeans hate Israel/Jews so much that they would ban Israeli products and produce, but in Bethlehem Israeli products are flying off the shelves.

Actually amazing.

Vocational Advice to the Entitlement Generation

Get thee to tattoo-removing school, and quickly, too.

"I have heard from most all of my clients that they’re being discriminated against in the workplace and they can’t find work. Even when it’s a beautiful tattoo, a lot of employers don’t like it.."

DUH!!!!

Family Dearest

"Arzu came from a family that seemed to be the model of successful integration."

A horrifying tale of "honour" murder in Germany.

I urge you to read the whole article, to get a look into the mindset of tribal barbarians, and how that culture has infiltrated the western world.

The western world is clearly not capable, or not willing to deal with this reality.

"At about 1:15 a.m. on Nov. 1, 2011, Sirin and four of her brothers abducted their sister Arzu, 18, from the apartment of her German boyfriend Alexander, 23. The couple's love affair had repeatedly been the cause of strife in the Özmen family. They are Yazidis, a Kurdish religious group who have emigrated to Germany in large numbers in recent decades. Yazidi religion forbids relationship with non-Yazidis."

"Eleven weeks later, a greenskeeper found Arzu's body next to a golf course in the northern state of Schleswig-Holstein. The fate of the girl, who had managed to flee to a women's shelter and was given a new identity, only to be killed in the end by her own family.."

Arzu came from a family that seemed to be the model of successful integration.

"The police files reveal how the family reacted to these transgressions. Arzu was beaten with a wooden club. When she went to the hospital, she told the staff there that she had fallen from her bicycle. When she returned home, the family took away her identification documents and locked her up. She managed to escape through an open cellar door on Sept. 1, and she filed charges against her father Fendi and her brother Osman on the same day. Now, in addition to violating religious rules, Arzu had also publicly exposed the family patriarch. "That alone was almost her death sentence," Judge Reineke said in the trial."

Arzu came from a family that seemed to be the model of successful integration.

Everybody's Doing It!

Peer pressure!

Ha! Just kidding.

Apparently, today is "Everybody Blog About the Latest Case of Crazy Dangerous Intimidation and Threats From a Leftist Blogger" day or something like that.

More from Michelle Malkin and Hot Air.

This is not just about physical threats and danger-which are very real.

This is also about the idea that the left should be able to control political discourse and that the left can establish a de facto state of censorship in democracies. I refuse to accept that.

When the political left decides that something is taboo, that's exactly when we should start talking more about it. The left has made great strides in the democratic world, pushing it's "progressive" agenda gradually, almost imperceptibly onto the larger population.

Concepts that were anathema to civilized society have made their way into everyday life and one is expected not to express any dissent for fear of being branded racist, or homophobic or "Islamophobic". If people disagree with the left, they are "intolerant" or "simple minded". The dissenters are merely "simplistic" people whose ignorance is clear as day.

Polite and civilized dissenting citizens have found that it is not enough to politely disagree and quietly acquiesce and tolerate what they once found intolerable.

Nothing but being a complete cheerleader for their pet causes acceptable to the left.

I'm reminded of attending a talk by Ezra Levant, who was confronted by a nutty, liberal, pro-censorship, Jew. The Jewish liberal became exasperated and sweaty asking Ezra a question.  lecturing Ezra on how wrong he was about internet censorship and "hate" on the internet.

Ezra stayed cool and let the dude blow off some unhinged steam.

The Jewish liberal became even more agitated and then in a tour de force exclaimed that Ezra clearly needed therapy!

Ezra needed therapy because he didn't agree with an unhinged liberal!

Being bullied into submission doesn't work, so let's shrinky-dink and re-educate these dumb conservatives into submission. They don't agree with us! They are mentally ill!

(Actually, I would guess that more liberals are 'in therapy' than conservatives-just a hunch, but then again, I'm not very bright...)

Well, guess what.

There aren't enough therapists in the world to intimidate all of us into ideological submission.

Mark Steyn says "they'll have to kill us all".

(Moderately arousing!)

The current unholy alliance between the left, greens and Islamic fascists constitutes a clear and current willingness and ability to extinguish lives, and an equally real threat of extinguishing our personal freedoms and liberty.

No freedom-loving individual wants to be the instrument of their own demise, but no freedom-loving individual should tolerate the encroachment (ideological or physical) of sinister, totalitarian-inclined and violent forces into the private spheres of their life: family, children and thoughts.

Har!

Krauts!

No joy? No joy gene?

Too funny.

"Germans can't even let go during sex. Many reported constantly having film and advertising images run through their minds. "This results in the requirement to cut a good figure even during sex," Imdahl says. That is, to hold in their bellies instead of enjoying the moment."

"Maybe Liberals Should Listen to Rush Limbaugh"

Heh.

"It’s comfortable living in a cocoon — associating only with those who share your views, reading journalism and watching news that only reinforces them, avoiding those on the other side of the cultural divide."

"Liberals have been doing this for a long time. In 1972, the movie critic Pauline Kael said it was odd that Richard Nixon was winning the election, because everyone she knew was for George McGovern."

"Kael wasn’t clueless about the rest of America. She was just observing that her own social circle was politically parochial."

The Church of the Holy Contraception

Otherwise know as Our Lady of Fallopian Church?

I joke, I joke.

This is a serious issue and this is a good column by David Harsanyi.

Been thinking a lot actually about the 43 Catholic organizations and institutions that are preparing a lawsuit against the Obama administration. I know a lot of people are cheering it on, and I think that it's better to do something than nothing.

But I can't help thinking that some of this reaction seems like morning after the great night before regret. That is to say, that a lot of Catholic Americans cast their votes for Obama for a myriad of reasons. It's hard to be sympathetic to the charge being led by the University of Notre Dame, when they so blindly cheered on Obama not that long ago, and featured him as a commencement speaker.

I guess they were so romanced and so dazzled by his charm that they decided to overlook his clear anti-life position.

This is not an event that can be erased from the historical record.

Unfortunately, it seems to me to be another example of bad judgement on the part of the Church.

Why defer to charming evil?

Obama's positions on abortion were simply radical and evil. Why honour that? Why elevate that?

The only thing that religious institutions can do now is play catch-up and try to stuff this anti-life, "progressive", genie back into the bottle.

It's a bit late to be organizing coalitions.

Claiming 'we didn't know' has never been a very good explanation for turning a blind eye to evil.

Sidewalk Fundraising in Downtown Toronto

For the sixth of seventh time this week, I was asked "just for a minute" to discuss making a donation to a non-profit organization on the streets of downtown Toronto.

Street fundraisers are the new squeegie kids.

Is anyone else bothered by this?

I am sick and tired of being accosted by aggressive fundraisers all over this city. I am not interested in being constantly harassed by well-intentioned but intrusive fundraising staff no matter what their noble cause is. I have worked in fundraising and it is a thankless job. And I donate to different non-profit organizations.

I worked in offices, or in direct mail-and was not directly and physically in people's faces.

However, I think that there is a bit of a scam in play here and I guess there is a lot of money at stake.

How come fundraisers for various organizations get to use public space (sidewalks) as their private fundraising offices?

Do fundraisers have to have a permit for soliciting funds on the streets of the city?

Maybe they should.

Why should any organization be able to make money on public property without some kind of permit or tax levied?

Toronto is a highly regulated city. People can't even operate food carts without being numbed into submission by the astounding and crippling regulations of the public health department. One can only buy hot dogs on city streets-everything else is too dangerous!

I'm thinking that maybe a percentage of the funds raised on the streets by professional fundraisers should go back to the city?

I'd love to run this by Rob Ford.

The UK Is Screwed

Full, and I mean chock full of crazy people.

Stop the World-I want to Jump Off

The UK is a terrible place with a corrupt and decadent legal system.

The victim-perpetrator inversion is a dangerous, dangerous force.

OK.

I thought the Chinese ground up baby bill story was the worst.

But clearly-there is no "worst".

When I read this story, I literally started to shake.

Dateline: India

Lord help us.

Evil Abuse of Children

I pray we see the day when parents are criminally charged with abuse, and the doctors who participate in these Mengele-esque experiments on children are stripped of their licenses as well.

Pity the children.

Why is it that without exception, the parents of these children seem to be completely mentally unstable and ill themselves? And usually they have (ahem) "complicated" sexual interests and forms of expression. They all have a touch of narcisism as well and are happy to take their stories to the international media.

If it's so troubling, why not deal with it in a dignified and private way. Why do so public?

A lot of the women tend to be single parents. Hmmm. What's up with that? Where are the fathers?

When there is a father in the picture, and that's rare-he seems to usually be a soft-spoken lisping vegan who goes to knitting circles.

Terrible, terrible stuff.

Brats!

At my house there are always two choices for dinner:

Eat.

Or not.

This kind of insanity just encourages bratty behaviour.

Brats.

Just Don't Talk About It

Influx of certain immigrant group to the UK improves UK schools somewhat.

Interesting.

Just don't talk about what draaaags it down.

Eurabia is Screwed

If people don't like Israeli produce, they don't have to buy it.

Israeli fruits, vegetables, spices, olive oil and dairy products are vastly superior to anything we can find in North America. Some European stuff is good-but northern Europe doesn't produce citrus, and other crops that are native to Israel.

But the obsession with labeling food from the OCCUPAYSHUN HUMILIYAAAYSHUN "territories" is pretty mental.

I guess Europeans really, really dig identifying Jews and Jew stuff with stickers and badges. Plus ca change.

Random Public Education is Screwed Sampler

Exhibit 1.

"Mr. Lirtzman handed over 20 student programs, all of which showed that administrators placed students in classrooms with uncertified teachers. The investigator informed Mr. Lirtzman that these were confidential documents.

"Now I am opening an investigation of you, she told him. It would be enough to bring a smile to the lips of Kafka"

“These are the most vulnerable kids, the ones no one really looks out for,” Mr. Lirtzman said. “This wasn’t a gray legal area. This was black and white, and the Department of Education decided that I was the problem.”

Exhibit 2.

"The graduates of our social sciences and humanities programs are increasingly found wanting in the workplace. Unless they can find employment in a leftist dominated milieu (e.g., government, academia, public sector union, media conglomerate), the American business world finds them ill-equipped to function successfully in what remains of the US entrepreneurial society.

The costs of a university indoctrination--er, that is, education--have skyrocketed. In light of the previous bullet, consumers-- i.e., the students' parents--find it increasingly hard to justify the expense

Intense criticism of the faculty is on the rise: they can't teach; or what they teach is garbage or propaganda; they're too busy with their "research"; and they are overpaid.Administrative policies make no sense--multiculturalism trumps achievement, political correctness outweighs impartiality. Most damaging, our universities, after a prolonged period of indoctrination, return students to their parents in a form that parents cannot recognize--their opinions, values and behavior have been altered beyond repair. (To be fair, it is encouraging that a not insignificant percentage of college grads manage to resist the brainwashing on campus)."

Exhibit 3.

"It is rare for such students to be genuinely desirous and capable of learning how to improve. Most of them simply hope that I will come around. Their belief that nothing requires improvement except the grade is one of the biggest obstacles that teachers face in the modern university. And that is perhaps the real tragedy of our education system: not only that so many students enter university lacking the basic skills and knowledge to succeed in their courses — terrible in itself — but also that they often arrive essentially unteachable, lacking the personal qualities necessary to respond to criticism."

Exhibit 4.

"We got here in large part because the mainstream media is full of biased hacks and jokers, and our educational establishment cares more about preserving union power and money than about educating our young."

The Eternally Shifting Sands of Obama's Biography

If you haven't already, you need to read Mark Steyn on Obama, the Zelig of the office of the President of the United States of America.

He's Everyman. He's black, white, Kenyan, American, Hawaiian, an academic, a regular Joe-whatever you need him to be-that's who he is.

But the problem with lying as Mark Twain said, is that you always have to remember what you said when, and to whom. Small problem. Not an issue when you tell the truth. The truth, the essence of the man is elusive and layered.

He says:

"In a post-modern America, the things that Gatsby attempted to fake – an elite schooling – Obama actually had; the things that Gatsby attempted to obscure – the impoverished roots – merely add to Obama's luster. Gatsby claimed to have gone to Oxford, but nobody knew him there because he never went; Obama had a million bucks' worth of elite education at Occidental, Columbia and Harvard Law, and still nobody knew him ("Fox News contacted some 400 of his classmates and found no one who remembered him")."

"In that sense, Obama out-Gatsbys Gatsby: His "shiftless and unsuccessful" relatives – the deportation-dodging aunt on public housing in Boston, the DWI undocumented uncle, the $12-a-year brother back in Nairobi – are useful props in his story, the ever more vivid bit-players as the central character swims ever more out of focus, but they don't seem to know him either. The more autobiographies he writes, the less anybody knows."

Totally related:

Here's something that we do know about Obama-that he is not a man of his word.

Read "The Fraudulence of Obama" here-picking up on some of the themes Steyn riffs on:

"Now hypocrisy is not an unknown quality in a politician. But what sets Obama apart from almost everyone else is the lengths Obama goes to in order to portray himself as morally superior to the rest of the political class even as he acts in ways that completely shatter his claims. He reminds me of the minister who cannot help from condemning the very sin to which he is beholden. And so as recently as last month Obama was saying, “A lot of folks see the amounts of money that are being spent and the special interests that dominate and the lobbyists that always have access, and they say to themselves, maybe I don’t count.”

"What’s impossible to know is the degree to which Obama is alarmingly cynical or the degree to which he is alarmingly self-deluded. Whatever the case, he is a man whose words mean nothing. Nothing at all.

A man of mystery, whose words mean nothing. However, the internet never forgets.

Indeed.
