Why are people surprised that there is not more of an uproar about British babies being used as fuel at an NHS hospital?

"Hi Rabbi, would you be able to tell me how to turn buffalo horns into shofars?"
"To understand why Dave would like to make shofars out of buffalo horns around Purim, I must first let you know how I got to know Dave, which is one of the most inspiring tales I have been a part of since we made Victoria our home."
"Weeks after we arrived in Victoria, I was contacted by Rabbi Lipa Dubrawsky from Vancouver who told me that a visitor from Baltimore had met a Jew on the ferry to Victoria. This person inquired about a mezuza, and he had his phone numbers in case I would like to be of help."
"None of the numbers he gave me seemed to work. A few days later, I learned that the 250 area code could be long distance, requiring a 1 before the number. I called Dave and found out that he lives in the interior of BC in a town called Barriere, and he had been in Victoria for a visit."
"Let me then mail you the mezuza," I said, to which he replied,
"Please don't. I would like to meet you in person to get the mezuza."
"When will you be coming?" I asked.
"I don't go very often, it may be next summer, but you'll hear from me as soon as I'm there."
A few days later Dave was on the phone:
"My wife's uncle died suddenly in Victoria. See you tomorrow."
"When Dave came to my house it was clear that he had something to say. He asked me and my wife Chani to sit down to hear his story."
"I was born in Austria to a Jewish family. At the age of three, I was adopted by a Christian family from BC. They told me that my ancestors were Jewish, but I didn't pay too much attention to it and I went on with my life. When I decided to research my family to find relatives, I was told that the Jewish people in my town had most probably all perished in the Holocaust. When I heard that, I made up my mind to leave the history behind and go forward with my life."
"I began a career in real estate and became the realtor of Barriere. I established a family and had a peaceful life, until that one spring day."
"It was right after I sold a house, and went to see my clients and to my surprise, I saw a menorah on their shelf. I had no idea what it was, but I was confident that it was a Jewish item. When I inquired about it, they said they weren't Jewish and the conversation ended."
"After leaving the house, I felt I had to go back and find out how this family got to own this beautiful menorah. After some convincing, they were ready to share their story."
"'My grandmother,' the lady said, 'hid a Jewish family in her home during World War II. When the Nazis took the family away, they left their belongings with her. She told us to carry this menora with us and maybe one day we would find someone to give it to.'"
Tears were falling down Dave's face as he continued the story.
"I said, 'I may be the one. I lost my entire family in the Holocaust. Would you give me the menora?' When they heard my story, they immediately agreed. They felt that the menora had finally reached its destination."
"Since I got this menora, I've become a different person; my Jewishness has been awakened and I've been looking to learn more about who I am."
"A month later I found a silver item in an antique shop that seemed to be Jewish. I purchased it and later heard from my learned friend that this item is called a 'mezuza cover' and it's missing the parchment. When I was on the ferry to Victoria in the summer, I saw a man who appeared to be an observant Jew, so I asked him if he knew where I can obtain that parchment."

Jews Not Welcome on Campus, This Road Leads to Anarchy
So this is what is happening on British campuses.
And Caroline Glick has an outstanding essay this week in the Jerusalem Post that summarizes the anti-Jewish climate on North American university campuses.
That's the only kind of climate change activism I could get behind:
Changing the antisemitic climate on campus. Not "please like us, please please we Jews are so nice" kind of activism. That's for p*ssies.
I'm talking about forcing administrators to curtail outright harassment, and curbing the rights of Jewish students on campus. There are a few examples in Glick's piece.

This is an important piece.
It highlights some of the more egregious campuses in North America in terms of their anti-Jewish activists, but more importantly, it shows the importance of fighting back and using legal means when necessary to force the administrators on campus to stop sanctioning antisemitism on campus.
It's not just faculty that are left and anti-Israel. It's clear that the administrators are as much of-if not more-of a problem than the faculty.
And as Glick rightly points out-this is not "just" a Jewish problem.
Where anti-semtism is allowed to thrive, a climate of recklessness, lawlessness and anti-rationalism reigns supreme.
I do not believe in "fighting" antisemitism. But I sure as hell do believe in fighting back when Jews are threatened and intimidated on campus, and their rights are violated.
Nobody has to like Jews, but nobody should be allowed to go unpunished when the basic rights of Jews, or any other student, are consistently violated on a university or college campus.
Where are all the "safe space" morons now?
Does "safe" space only apply to some groups and not to others? Clearly that is the case.
Meanwhile, at Queen's University, Professor Janice Fiamengo was once again abused just for her thoughts about men's equality.
A student feminist activist was allegedly attacked
(I wonder if this is a real 'hate crime' or a faux 'hate crime', I don't believe in the term 'hate crime' at all. There is just CRIME CRIME. I mean if there are hate crimes, where are the love crimes? The [insert other emotive] crimes as well?
So there is a lack of civility on campus in general.
But I hear that Prof. Fiamengo's talk at the University of Ottawa was completely shut down by protestors. And the U of O has, of course, a dismal record on free speech-so this is not surprising.

If it was shut down, then it really is like I said last week:
"Security" is the new "shut up".
Shame on the administrators that allow uncivilized, barbaric behavior on campus.
They are disgusting enablers.
They may think it's cute right now to enable this behaviour toward the Jewish students, but the mob is never satisfied.
So it goes from the Jews, to the conservatives, then to the less conservative, and then the non-Jews, and so on.
These administrators are enabling a path that enables the disruption and dissembling of civilized society.
Shame on them. They need to be called on it and legal means must be used whenever necessary.
Do not bring a plea for civility to the mob.
Bring in the lawyers and force their enabling, disgusting, cowardly hands.
That's called fighting back and it works.

Pursuant to Mark Steyn's excellent post yesterday "Reading the Tea Leaves in Johnson County", another reminder of how, as I put it yesterday:

The UVA Student who was assaulted by "State Alcohol Control Officers" has filed a gazonga, huge lawsuit against the Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) board.
GOOD.
FOR.
HER.
"The Virginia ABC has since said that two of the agents violated the agency’s policy, but conveniently, it won’t say what those policies were, apparently to protect the privacy of those agents’ personnel files. Think about that for a minute. Two armed government agents violently confronted and terrified a group of young women in a grocery store parking lot. The women had done nothing wrong. And yet the public isn’t permitted to know how the ABC is handling the situation internally — in order to protect the privacy of those same two government agents. So much for transparency, or for accountability."
She could have quite easily been murdered by these overzealous assholes.
And as the Washington Post reporter points out:
"There’s also the broader question of why Virginia’s alcohol regulatory agency needs armed agents in the first place. The arming of regulatory agencies is a disturbing trend, both at the state and federal level. "
"Sure, it’s possible to conceive of scenarios where it might be judicious for alcohol regulators to have armed officers around — perhaps while raiding an illegal moonshine still or busting up some black-market booze market. That’s when the ABC could call in the Virginia State Police or some other law enforcement agency for help. That, of course, would require convincing that agency why such force is necessary. When you have your own guns, you’re more likely to use them, including in situations where doing so isn’t appropriate. Like this one."

People who do good things for seriously or terminally ill children are just saintly.
It is so hard for adults to put aside their own grief and sadness about a child's illness and focus solely on creating and sustaining moments of relief and happiness for that child and his or her family. These people are messengers of G-d's goodness.
What a great story.

Yes. It is a fact.

My problem with this "outreach" for "understanding" is that it's never reciprocal.
We never hear of the kick-ass Palestinian doctor "reaching out" to Jews, bringing them medical care or anything of that nature. It's only one way. From Jews, who just appear to be begging "like us, like us, we're so nice" toward the Palestinians.
And unfortunately, even Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, who writes some wonderful Torah commentary and is the chief Rabbi of Efrat, cannot recognize the reality of where he lives.

The little cancer warrior said this of her friend:
“I was really excited I would have somebody to support me and I wouldn’t be alone with people always laughing at me. I would at least have somebody to go through it all,” says Delaney, who just began chemotherapy.
What did the school do?
Refused to let her attend school, because her shaved head violated the school's policy on shaved heads.
Apparently, with media attention, the school has backtracked.

Must Read: UK Child Sex Slavery, Multiculturalism and Islam
This is a report from the Gatestone Institute, written by Soeren Kern (who has got some stones, I'll say that much).

More often than not, they are placed in WORSE situations. Many people take in children for financial reasons or for worse reasons-to abuse them.
This happens in all democracies.
They can cause a lot of trouble with very little cause.
If you ever have an encounter with a "helpy person", my advice is to try your very best to make it go away. Make them go away. Once they sink your teeth into you, they will never let go until they absolutely destroy you and your children.

Many "poor" people (with cell phones, large screen TVs, central air conditioning, fake nails and cars) make consistently bad choices. If there is always money for alcohol, drugs, cigarettes and fast food and no time for self-improvement, how can the "cycle" of poverty be broken.
It's called an "occupation" for a reason.
