A Typical Brit Tries to Go Without Alcohol for a Month

A month without alcohol for this British writer. 

This is one of the saddest articles I have read this year (ha). Addictions are terrible. People generally underestimate their addictions.

Jews are generally big on food, lighter on the drink. Generally. There are exceptions.

Any substance that alters your brain is escapism and can be really dangerous.

Real life is so interesting, so strange, so painful sometimes but so fulfilling. It's a shame when people choose to anaesthetize themselves, and then the numbing becomes involuntary.
