"It's Different With Kids"

Read this just now via Instapundit. 

The article discusses the way in which one's appreciation of movies and art changes after having children.

It's very nicely done. For me, being a mother is the primary way I define myself-then Jewish second. The feeling, the privilege of having life grow inside of me is one of the greatest gifts of my entire life. The umbilical cord never really is severed. When my kids are sick, or hurting, I feel it physically. I don't think that ever goes away-not that I would ever want it to.
