Do people not realize that the hospitals are all funded by us, the taxpayers?
"Absorb" is a rather comical term for this.
Ontario hospitals are all government funded.
Most hospitals have to have foundations to fund care and physicians salaries because the current model is "unsustainable".
When I say "unsustainable" that means that almost 50% of Ontario's GDP goes to health care expenses.
I had to e-mail the CEO of a local hospital recently in order to get my son's appointment with a specialist.
I was initially told, in March-that I would have to wait until August for the appointment.
The current model is "unsustainable", but nobody wants to slay the Sacred Canadian Cow of socialized medicine.
I say-fire up the BBQ and put some Sacred Cow burgers on the grill.

Refugee health care bills should only be paid by people who VOLUNTARILY donate their time or money toward this cause-not via tax dollars in any way, shape or form.

But yet, here's the American AG, flouting the rule of law.
And it is indeed the equal application of the rule of law by government that separates democracies from totalitarian states.

I often write about the power of words. Words can help people and inspire them. They can also be devastating weapons when they are used in anger or to cause pain.
I'm delighted to report that yesterday, three little words made my day.
I had to reschedule one of my special needs son's myriad appointments. I was nervous because I never know what kind of reception I'll be getting from the receptionist.
I dialed the number and got the booking person on the phone and explained politely that I'm sorry-I had to change the appointment because I could not get the time off work on that particular day, and make other child care arrangements at that particular time.
And the woman at the other end of the phone said "hey-life happens".
And I felt a wave of relief and happiness.
I said yes, life certainly does happen-so thank you for saying that.
Isn't that amazing?
Three little words spoken changed a mundane conversation from potentially difficult to pleasant and uplifting.
Words matter.

His gorgeous, brave wife puts her life on the line to defend Western values and gets death threats from Muslim fanatics who want to slit her throat like they did Theo Van Gogh, and Professor Ferguson caves because a few exquisitely sensitive activists clearly did not understand the absolute banality and inocuous nature of his remark about Keynes.
Theo Van Gogh pathetically pleaded 'can't we just talk about this' when his throat was slit by an Islamic terrorist who did not appreciate his movie.
So the answer in common from both the Islamic terrorist and from the precious California left is-hell no-we cannot and will not talk about this, so just SHUT UP.

I will say that only my special needs child is in the public school system. And that is because they have a lot of resources (read: my taxes) and I personally investigated every possible framework before deciding where to enrol him. And, due to his cognitive disabilities, he cannot be brainwashed by the garbage and left-wing indoctrination that passes for "education" that exists in so many North American public school systems.
However-everyone else, Jewish day schools.
