America: What Have You Become?

A nation of victims, run by bureaucrats and law enforcement?

I hate to think so, but it certainly seems lately like this is the case.

Dr. Helen makes a number of very good points in this piece. And, I should mention that the public school system is indeed a huge part of the problem-it's a system of indoctrination for the most part, with a little bit of education sprinkled in. Only one of mine is in the public system-and that's the special needs kid, so I don't worry in the slightest about ideological indoctrination with him.

"Look around the web and you will see people who blame the parents: they raised the misbehaving monsters, some say. But parents and adults in general have had their authority usurped for the last fifty years by society and the “helping professions” and in turn, child protective agencies and law enforcement who might take your kid or charge you as a sex offender if you do what they perceive to be wrong and who knows what that is?"

That's exactly it-the authority, the moral authority that is, of adults, and parents in particular is undercut all the time.  Especially by the vile "helping" professions.

Sure they help: they help make colossal train wrecks of families, and by doing so, help ensure that they still have fat cat jobs.

She furthermore notes that:

"Your kids are not safe in the public schools from these bureaucrats who will use the force of the state to make sure your child complies with being politically correct if more of these anti-bullying laws are enacted."

And believe me, it won't stop at 'anti-bullying', it will continue to creep through to every element of society. The teaching of human sexuality has been completely taken over by the public school system-it's no longer considered by "educators" (our moral and intellectual superiors) something that parents are capable of 'teaching'. Phys-ed is not really about getting physical activity nowadays either. Geography is full of "global warming" gobbleydeegook.

I would advise all parents with children in the public school system to seriously examine the educational material that their children are given. Believe me, even the private school system is not exempt from including blatant propaganda in the curriculum.  Certain subjects just lend themselves seamlessly to indoctrination (social studies, geography, history) and while parents may not be able to change course outlines or texts, they should at least be aware of material that is questionable and objective and take the time to go over it with their kids.

If you don't, then you really have no right to complain about it post-facto.
