They have way too much power and destroy many innocent lives. A lot of their workers are emotionally damanged good themselves.
Here's a story that has at least a somewhat happy ending.
An abuser of children killed himself. Good. Some people just don't deserve to live another day.
How did this charming fellow get to take care of children.
HO HUM:
"The CAS kept the children in his care despite Hassan’s drug use, criminal record and neighbours’ reports of neglect and abuse. The girl was beaten, punched, kicked or dragged by the hair along the floor unless she satisfied Hassan’s demands, she told the Toronto Sun in an exclusive interview in March."
"The abuse occurred twice a week when she was younger but became a nightly ordeal after she turned 11 or 12, the Crown said."
"CAS granted Hassan custody of the girl because he already had custody of her half-brother — despite the fact that Hassan had five criminal convictions."
“I read the CAS reports and those reports, a police file, showed a babysitter noticed I had soreness and redness in my genital area when I was eight years old,” the victim said.
"When the girl was seven, reports of drug use and prostitutes frequenting Hassan’s Regent Park apartment forced the CAS to apprehend the two children."
"Once Hassan completed drug rehab, both children — who cannot be identified due to a publication ban — were returned to his care and the family moved to another neighbourhood in the GTA."
And of course-nobody working for the Children's Aid Society will be punished.
Nobody will be accountable.
People will still write cheques and attend galas.
Shame on them all.
