Apparently, these attacks were motivated by animosity toward Israel and Jews, and by Israel's treatment of the Palestinians.
Apparently, sometimes notes were left in "awkward" German (i.e non-native) expressing pro-Palestinian sentiments.
Oddly enough: the religion of the perpetrators of these many attacks was not mentioned.
