It may be "politically" motivated? Right. Gunman asks for Islamic flag with the shahada on it, and it's 'political'.

We know that too many Australians have gone SOFT IN THE HEAD and are far too sympathetic with the enemy.

Frankly, when I saw this article, my first thought (sorry for the vulgarity) was actually #F&ckYouAustralia.
