This is a hopeful story on one level, for obvious reasons.
It's instructive on another-to think about how powerful brain drugs can help (and also harm) people.
But it's also terrifying to think how many humans are trapped in their bodies, fully lucid but unable to communicate, as people all around them talk about them, prepare their families for their deaths, talk about organ donations, 'pulling the plug' or worse, and act as though they are already dead, deserving of the morgue and not worthy of consideration for life.
