I really am not the 'meeting type'.
In other words, at the sound of tone, please send me an e-mail!!
I am frequently asked to come to meetings or to participate in conferences, but I always tell people that they can have (some of) my time but sorry-not my body. Now don't go thinking all silly dirty. Basically, I don't have time or the zitzfleisch sit around and beg G-d for people to get to the freaking point. Ideas are a dime a dozen. I like sharing ideas. But basically, I really wouldn't want to be a part of any club that would have me as a member.
Scaramouche, silly gal that she is, decided to go to an all day (UGH) conference on Israel and was unfortunately subject to YET ANOTHER meltdown by Tarek Fatah-who has been regularly feted on the Jewish cocktail circuit for his bravery in confronting Islamic antisemitism. Blogrwath has more here.
My own assessment-and I would say this to Mr. Fatah's face if we had the chance to discuss it in person, is that he is animated primarily by socialism (self-confessed) and his anti-clerical stance, and not by any love for the Jews and certainly not for Israel.
The rest is commentary.

Israel Solidarity Rally: Wednesday November 21 at 6:00 p.m, Toronto.
Meet in front of The Israeli Consulate in Toronto, 180 BLOOR STREET WEST, TORONTO
(At Bloor and Avenue Road). Participants are encouraged to bring Canadian and Israeli flags.
Why?
Because no mother should have to protect her child with her own body.

No children should have to sleep in bomb shelters.

France Sucks!
It has been going down the demographic and sociological toilet for many years.
Now, the economic toilet.
Au revoir, France. Otherwise known as the glories of socialism.

Is there an acute shortage of actors in NYC?
One would think that there was some kind of crazy, like INSANE shortage of actors and puppeteers in NYC. How else to explain the weeping and wringing of hands over Kevin Clash?
I'm pretty confident that there are other highly qualified, non-perverted candidates in NYC who would love to fill the role.
Oopsie-another accuser comes forward.
These are some of the most expensive lays in history it seems. I thought Spitzer paid too much, but $125K is a pretty expensive situation-but it looks like it was a repeat gig.

Celebrate Diversity in the UK
Exorcising jinns within "Asian" community instead of treating mental illness-less stigma!
What could possibly go wrong?

Not a Gaffe
With typical British understatement, it has been noted that:
"It is rather embarrassing, as well as sad, that the leader of the free world can’t even pronounce the name of the most famous human rights activist on the planet. Or that he is so quick to appease Burma’s authoritarian regime by calling it “Myanmar”."
"Barack Obama’s gaffes [Ed note: I actually don't think that they are gaffes at all, they are absolutely reflective of his mentality and wrong-headed, feckless policies] demonstrate not only a marked lack of attention to detail and a high degree of amateurishness on the part of the White House, but also a disturbing willingness to curry favour with unsavoury regimes. Hardly a good omen for Obama’s second term."
The devastating part of this is that Mr. Obama is not embarrassed. Nor is any member of his team!
Good omens for a second Obama term?
There is no such thing, other than good blogging material.
BTW: Have you seen who the Obama team is made up of?
Good lord. Just what America needs. A crew of overweight, blubber-assed lefty freaks running the country.
PAGING MAYOR BLOOMBERG, PAGING MAYOR BLOOMBERG, please pick up the obese leftist courtesy help phone in the main lobby.

Sharing is Caring-GAH!
Last week we had some lovely stomach flu circulating in my house. My house was puke and poop central.
The great thing about kids is they share so generously-germs included.
They felt so bad that I had to clean up all the guck, and I had to reassure them once again that it didn't bother me in the least-that this kind of thing is in the "Mom" job description. If they are sick, there is nothing I would rather be doing than nursing them back to health, and even cleaning up puke at 3:00 a.m. That's what I was put on this earth for-to take care of them.
So, bear with me.
I'm trying to get caught up, but I was completely flattened by whatever bug it was and am still not 100%.

One Man, One Vote, One Hundred Times
Boy, math must be really hard for Democrats.
Like, really, really hard.
Further to Mark Steyn's note about One-Party Statelets, the following has come to my attention about Florida.
Tim Edson is campaign manager of (the truly amazing and incredible) Allen West. There are some questions about voter integrity in that state.
"Edson said other problems arose this morning. The recount showed 900 voters cast ballots in precinct 93, where there are 7 registered voters, Edson said."
“We have concerns here,” Edson said. “The results are raising more questions.”
I'm pretty sure that even The Kremlin was more sophisticated and subtle about the truly glorious and oddly uninterrupted winning streak by communist candidates in the USSR.

Israel Does Not Need a "Better" PR Strategy
This article is well-intentioned but wrong.
Israel doesn't need a "better" PR strategy. Israel is, in fact, kicking ass in the media.
Israel and the IDF own-didja hear me-OWN Twitter and YouTube. Their updates are incredible and in real time.
The only thing that irritates me is how they Tweet about the supplies that they have transferred to the Gaza strip (medical, dairy products, supplies). That's nothing to brag about. That is stupid. That is bleeding heart. That's why the Arabs of Gaza feel emboldened. ("Oh those stupid infidel Jews, we kill them, kidnap them and bomb them and they still, with their Jewish hearts, send us food and supplies those dumbass kufars..")
There is no "PR" strategy that will turn Jew haters in to philosemites.
Who cares what the BBC says? Or Slate, or CNN.
Social media should only be seen in this context for what it is worth-a way to get the message out to Israel's supporters and to show the truth of the conflict. It is also being used effectively to warn Israelis of incoming missiles-that's an amazing use of this technology.
But just as there is no "cure" for Judenhaas, there is no PR strategy that will "win over" the "hearts and minds" of those who would generally prefer for the Jews to self-exterminate, or to shove us once again in the ovens.
Therefore, the very best "PR" strategy is for Israel, and the IDF to continue pounding the shit out of, and killing the people who wish to kill us.
To wit: From David Horowitz at the Times of Israel:
"Who are these people?"
"They are people who glory in death. Since we delight in life, we had better prevail."

Free Speech in the Western World is In Danger
Everywhere I go, people are afraid.
Afraid of cracking jokes, afraid that their use of even the most innocuous insult will land them in front of a Human Rights Commission "trial".
I refuse to be afraid.
Life is too short. Don't let the language bullies determine what you can or can't say, what is or is not funny, what you should think and how you should behave.
A civilized society will root out the truly egregious language on its own-without the "help" of the earnest, blowhard leftists who want to not just control our speech, but our thought and our children.
If you censor yourself, you're a part of the problem.
The solution to the Thought Police is more free speech, raunchier jokes, freer discourse and less fear-not more.
So you offend someone. So what?
Really-so what?
Here's what happening on American university campuses.
Here's a snapshot of the disgusting censorship and faux-free speech that is the norm at Canadian universities.
More from Kate here.
If you like what you see-keep your mouth shut, put your head down, and plod along.
If you don't, crank it up to ELEVENTY.

Smart Jew Ruthie Blum: It's the Jihad Against the Jews, Stupid
Jews have always been hunted by their enemies.
Our enemies now are more than a little upset that we have a kick-ass army and our very own state and that we have declined more genocide.
Ruthie Blum spells it out nicely here:
"It's the Jihad against the Jews, stupid."
Read it all!
And put Israel Hayom ("Israel Today") in your "Israel" bookmark folder-it's a source of non-leftist news from Israel. Good stuff in there....

Four Year Old Put in Padded Room at Ontario Public School

OMG Thanks Kathy For Saying It
Five Feet and I had lunch the other day and well we had to say it.
And when I say, we had to say it, I mean WE HAD TO SAY IT.
Both of us have this kind of right-wing, estrogen-based adult onset mild Tourette's or something, and both of us usually only say about 80% of the things we are thinking because most people really can't handle it.
I was at a very posh event a couple of weeks ago with a room full of well-dressed investment bankers.
I asked the guys beside me if they purposely picked banking because there was not a lot of estrogen in it. Then I told them that the event needed more food and more babes.
I thought they were going to plotz. That was just a very minor utterance/outburst for me. Geez.
ANYWAY: Back to Kathy.
So, I am delighted that she has said the unsaid.
Dear womenfolk!
If you become grossly overweight, don't wear any make-up and your hair and clothing and glasses are stuck in a time warp and you can only wear tents, your husband will not be interested in you. And if you do this: it's your fault.
Your husband might not say it in words, but he is definitely thinking it.
It is only rare, strange beta males who enjoy having relations with obese women.
Women need to stay slim.
Pro tip: You can do this by exercising and not eating like a pig.
Women need to stay current with fashion, hair and make up. Generally this means getting good advice about what looks good on your body, what hair colour is appropriate and wearing make up that is also age appropriate. It means staying away from loud patterns, and throwing away the sweatpants from the 1980s or worse.
It means perfume will never cover up fat smell.
It means fake long nails with sparkly glitter on them will never distract from the fact that you are are too big.
Big hair will not distract either.
Men are visually oriented-you do not want your husband to be physically repelled by you.
If you look at the picture of Paula-notice that her boobs are in the right place. And by that I mean that she has a bra that fits her properly (or a boob job).
There is no excuse for breasts to be at navel level. This is not attractive!
Gravity is a bitch, but can be mitigated.
GET A GOOD BRA, LADIES.
Work with what you have.
Don't be fat, and try really, really hard not to be nag.
Make nice food and have more, rather than less, relations.
It's not rocket science.
You're welcome.

Welcome to After America
"City wages were a runaway train..."
If you haven't already read it, After America by Mark Steyn (now available in paperback) is an apocalyptic look at a world no longer led by America on any level: economic, liberty, democracy or philosophical.
You will hate yourself for laughing while you read it, but read it you must. Unfortunately, many of Steyn's predictions are coming true, and probably at a pace that many Americans never allowed themselves to imagine.
Here is an After America story that I read today that made me terribly upset-from Reuters.
It's an in-depth look at how union and political greed bankrupted an entire city in California.
It's heartbreaking actually.
The money simply ran out. As it will for the entire country.
That's where things are heading! And it's not "just" San Bernardino and Stockton.
"A handful of other small California cities, including Atwater, Hercules and Compton, are teetering near bankruptcy."
City wages were a runaway train.
That's one way of looking at it.
The problems are fiscal and spiritual of course. But the spiritual crisis of America preceded the financial one. The erosion of personal liberty, the growing government dependence addiction, the nanny-state incursion into individual lives, the turn away from Western values-those all preceded the financial ruin. They set the groundwork for the fall.
So, take a few minutes to read about this example from California (the "vicious cycle").
City wages were a runaway train.
The problem of course with runaway trains is that they can't slow down on their own.
They stop with wreckage unless someone puts on the brakes-and you're kidding yourself if you think the Obama administration will pull that lever.

Israel Under Fire
Today, Red Alerts are sounding in southern Tel Aviv and all over southern Israel, and apparently 30,000 reserve troops have been mobilized.
I read this article today by David Pryce-Jones, it's an excellent analysis:
I quite agree with his conclusion:
"Taking out Jabari, Israel has drawn a line."

"Token rockets, yes perhaps; a barrage, no."
"Jabari lived underground out of precaution. To have identified his whereabouts accurately and to have struck the car he was in is a feat requiring the highest levels of intelligence and technical skills."
"The pity of it is that previous Hamas leaders have deceived themselves that this strategy of violence will eliminate Israel, only to pay for such folly with their lives. Each time a master terrorist like Jabari is killed, they swear they will open the gates of hell on Israel, only to find that they are herding themselves through those very gates."
So, now the question-what can we do to help Israel. Well, of course for those who pray-pray.
For those who want to do something more concrete, I humbly offer a few suggestions.
Roger Simon wants to volunteer for the IDF.

For those who want to do something more concrete, I humbly offer a few suggestions.
- Donate to reputable Israeli charities. Many have North American offices. I would personally recommend Magen David Adom, Beit Halochem (Israeli Disabled Veterans), Keren Malki and any of the Canadian/American "Friends of" organizations that raise money for institutes of higher education in Israel.
- Save your pennies and dollars and take a trip to Israel-no matter what is happening there. It's off season now. You can pick up round trip deals sometimes for under a thousand dollars from the east coast of North America. Spend money on El Al tickets, spend money at Israeli hotels and restaurants. Keep the tourism-based economy running.
- Order Israeli products on line, or buy Israeli products where you live. Same idea as above-support Israeli industry.
- Thank those politicians who have clearly supported Israel. It's important for them to hear from their constituencies about their public statements on Israel.
- Demonstrate. There is a counter demonstration in Toronto today (Thursday) at 6:00 p.m in front of the Israeli consulate at 180 Bloor Street West, just west of Avenue Road. There will be Hamas supporters there, and there is a counter-demonstration planned. Bring Israeli and Canadian flags.

So, A Lesbian Walks Into A Muslim Barbershop...
NOT A JOKE.
This is what happens when "rights" bash up and smash each other.
So hard to know what side to root for in this story! And it's gone international!
If the case actually does go to the Dreaded Ontario Human Rights Commission of Doom, then I would put my money on the Muslim barber "winning".
Because in the order of things "Human Rights", if it's gay versus straight then gay will usually win (see the recent housing disputes in Ontario). But Muslim trumps EVERYTHING.
You'll see.

Gratitude: 81 Year Old Holocaust Survivor Tracks Down American GI Who Saved His Life
I am completely verklempt.
The story and the pictures are incredibly moving.
This is an incredibly touching Veteran's Day story.
“You, the GI Joes, spoke the first kind words to us in years. You held in your arms living skeletons too weak to walk too weak to eat, and (nearly) too weak to live.”
I am so glad they found each other after all these years.

Dear United Airlines-Here's a Free PR Lesson
But first, a question-do you not have ANY people on your PR team who have a collective IQ that is at all higher than a bag of hammers?
Also, how much stupid is in the water at O'Haire Airport?
PRO TIP: Throwing disabled people out of their wheelchairs, making them drag their own bodies and then rupturing their catheter bags so they have to sit soaked in their own urine is NOT good publicity.
You're welcome.

No Raisins For You!
Buh-bye and good riddance.
By the way, I hope that all the (incredibly and hopelessly stupid) Jews who voted for Obama are really happy now.
First presser after re-election, with missiles raining down on the civilian population of southern Israel, and the Syrian 'conflict' moving closer to Israel up north-not a single word, nor a single care about Israel on the part of your re-elected POTUS.
What could possibly be wrong with that?

Approaching a Crisis of Liberalism?
Here's an interesting piece from Forbes about President Obama's re-election and what may be an upcoming "crisis" of liberalism based on two points: fiscal and philosophical.
My question is-why are smart people so stupid?
It's clear that the author of this article and the author of the book being reviewed are very smart. How then, to explain this:
"Kesler believes the odds of the country taking the upward path have been improved by an intellectual rebirth in academia [Ed note: IS HE FOR REAL?!?!?!], which, he points out, has begun to challenge the totems of progress and relativism."
"And, although the left still dominates the institutions of higher learning, they are no longer able to obliterate the successes of free market economics, nor the failures of their own policies to ameliorate the suffering of the poor in America’s inner cities."
See-that's the uber-stupid part.
Facts are completely irrelevant to liberal fanatics.
According to them, they are doing a great job. If things haven't worked out-it's because they haven't poured enough money into it, or they just have to tweak the program a bit.
Socialism will work this time!

The only problem is that most of the money seems not to have gotten to the terminally ill cancer patients in order to grant their last wishes.

By the way, Paula "Soccer Mom" Broadwell is supposed to be some kinda amazing totally yowza alpha female, strong abs, strong runner, long limbed, foxy journalist and writer el supremo.
So, I was just thinking-if she was such an outstanding Alpha Female Writer, how come she needed some other dude to write her book?
Especially if she was already writing a PhD dissertation on the randy general (*guffaw*)?
Now-I know that having a PhD doesn't really mean you can write-in fact-it may well mean the opposite-but that is really weird-don't you think?
The only problem is that most of the money seems not to have gotten to the terminally ill cancer patients in order to grant their last wishes.
Classy!
These randy generals have really picked a spectacular class of women folk to run around with.

Florida Cougar Lawyers Up
And scrambles the PR machine-STAT!
I laughed when I read Mark Steyn's piece on NRO today about Honey Pot Jill.
Then, I saw that she hired some very expensive and experienced legal and PR experts....
My favourite line in the article:
"Even if Kelley simply found it prudent to keep a lawyer handy—why Lowell? It's like hiring David Boies because your friend got a speeding ticket. Lowell is the quintessential Washington power broker. He represented Clinton before the Senate during his impeachment trial. He specializes in disgraced political figures, including John Edwards. He's the kind of guy you hire when you're seriously ******."
Exit question: Is Kelley really "37"?
Because if she's 37, then I'm the Queen of England.
Cheerio, my loyal subjects, cheerio!
New Austin Powers film title:
Four More Years, Baby.
And my final thought:
BENGHAZI BENGHAZI BENGHAZI
Too bad Chris Stevens wasn't bonking a general, having hishagiography biography written by a soccer mom, or uploading a dumb film onto YouTube. Clearly, those are better ways to get the attention of the President than say, being beaten and torched to death by a bunch of Islamic jihad fanatics on the anniversary of 9/11 in a Muslim country.

America the Beautiful
This is a fantastic essay from City Journal (a wonderfully thoughtful site, always full of good stuff) about "The Americanness of the American Revolution".
In reading this essay-and you should read the whole thing-I was simultaneously depressed and uplifted. And thankfully, in that order.
It has a very concise assessment of the wisdom of America's Founding Fathers-and shows that though they had no utopian illusions about human nature, they nonetheless had faith that mankind was capable of great and honourable things.
So, my dear American friends-I know how upset you are about the elections. I was, too-even though I did see an Obama victory coming (the drug of entitlement is very hard to wean off).
But this article gives me some hope once again that the "Americanness" of America is still there. I still feel that spirit whenever I am in America. Don't despair!
"The American Revolution, then, was doubly limited in its aims: limited to making only a political change without altering social or economic arrangements, and determined to set strict limits to its new government, fearful that any governmental power beyond the barest minimum necessary to protect liberty too easily could become a threat to liberty itself. "
"With similar prudence and modesty, when they wrote the new constitution, the Founders nursed no grandiose illusions that they were going to change human nature by altering the structure of government."
"They had a very clear-eyed assessment of human nature. After all, their social-contract theory rested on a psychology that acknowledged what Patrick Henry called, conventionally enough, “the depravity of human nature,” with its lusts, aggression, and greed no less inborn than its rights. They tried to create a republic that would flourish with human nature as it is, with all its cross-grained passions and interests. They never forgot, as Alexander Hamilton cautioned, “that men are ambitious, vindictive, and rapacious.”
"Still, they weren’t cynics. Despite human nature’s failings, they believed men capable of virtue, as history, literature, observation, and introspection taught them."
I love that concept, and I try to live that way-not utopian about human nature, but not a cynic either.
We humans are terribly fallible beings, but we always have the rest of today and tomorrow to improve and build and do things differently, better, bigger and with more heart and soul.

Another Reason Why the BBC Completely Sucks
I'm not a huge fan of the BBC. I find their stiff-upper-lip-garden-variety antisemitic, anti-Israel, pro-terrorist, anti-Western posture offensive and disgusting.
Now, I have an extra reason to despise the BBC.
Apparently, BBC head honchos decided that it wasn't advisable to "alienate" the large swatches of antisemitic Hungarians during the Second World War who listened to their broadcasts in Hungarian.
Thus, the decision was made not to warn Hungarian Jews about their impending deportation at the hands of the Nazis.
A memo setting out policy for the BBC Hungarian Service in 1942 states: "We shouldn't mention the Jews at all."
The "...policy of silence on the Jews was followed right up until the German invasion in March 1944. After the tanks rolled in, the Hungarian Service did then broadcast warnings. But by then it was too late."

The Horror and the Hope
His parents knew that he was trying to communicate.
The medical community said he was a useless vegetable.
Now, a British researcher has shown that "vegetables" actually have things to say. They have needs and wants and thoughts and souls, all the while trapped in bodies that have betrayed them, trapped with brains that have been injured.
This story, and this research then is the most horrifying and most hopeful article I've read today.

America's Free Speech Retreat
A well written piece by Matt Welch at Reason.
He makes some good points in here, and offers a plethora of reasons why President Obama's behaviour on the Benghazi file has been abysmal vis a vis free speech. This article doesn't discuss the murders in great detail.
I agree with his conclusion:
"This mandate to take offense is a recipe not just for the kind of self-censorship Americans already engage in when discussing the historical figure of Muhammad, but also the kind of active censorship that America’s critics, and too many of its academics, are recommending. If Obama ends up serving only one term, his treatment of the Libya attacks and the First Amendment will be an inglorious coda on a failed presidency."
However-I would say that the author has not considered the (rather horrifying) possibility that President Obama is actually not a huge fan of free speech, and the evidence shows that he has a particular sensitivity to offensive speech directed toward Muslims-but to no other discernable group.
I believe that is more the case.
That the President's reaction is not bungled, but rather clearly demonstrates that he is not a First Amendment President.
The horror of Benghazi is further unsettling with that in mind.
Woe unto America.
When a President is a foe, and not a friend of free speech, one can only imagine the uphill battles that liberty faces in the next four years and beyond.

Crowding-no space to spare!
However, there seems to still be room for Nakouley Basouley-who is no saint, but never killed anyone (unlike another fellow prisoner who was recently released, see above article).

American Decline
Almost two weeks after Sandy hit, the clean up is still "not optimal".
And while elderly Americans are still being found dead at the bottom of stairwells, and while mothers have to drag bottled water up ten flights of stairs with their one year old and ten year old children as helpers, Big Government still cannot get the power running.
Even more obcene is what Gov Co is focusing on:
"With everything people have had to contend with during the storm, they may not be thinking about the wood or woody debris in their back yard possibly harboring the Asian longhorned beetle," said New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture Douglas H. Fisher.
Gee-ya think?
What kind of a place has America become when one has to actually articulate to the fools-our betters-in government that human needs: food, water, shelter and electricity ought to come before even the most remote concern about trees and bug infestations?

We Need the Hell Out of Afghanistan
More "green on blue" jihadist murder of Western troops.
"The gunman was wearing an Afghan army uniform. The soldier's next of kin has been informed..."
A waste.
Just a waste of another honourable life.

Meet Seb White-Supermodel
"The turning point came when Seb was
four months old and Caroline was pushing him in his pram in Bath one day
when she passed a family with two perfect, blond-haired, blue-eyed boys
— exactly the family she'd imagined for herself."
"Shuffling along behind that family was a middle-aged man with a pudding-basin haircut clinging to the arm of an elderly woman."
"Caroline says: 'He had Down's and was out with his mum. The contrast between these two families was horrific. I saw my future and couldn't bear it so I ran home, sobbing hysterically."
"As Caroline ranted and raved at Simon, he asked her a life-changing question: 'If you can't accept our baby, how can you expect the rest of the world to?"
"It was a poignant question, and one that stopped Caroline in her tracks."

OMG What Doesn't Offend Arabs!?!?
Harvard University-chock full of your moral, intellectual and gastronomical superiors:
Behold: Arabs deeply offended by hummous and couscous.
“That ‘Israeli Mezze Station” is the ultimate multicultural, multireligious ‘f*** you’ in the face of ALL Arabs at once from North Africa to the Levant."
Chill out, babe.

This is the aftermath of the storm that Chris Matthews was so very happy about.
Elderly people in New York state are dying because they have no power, they can't get out of their apartments, they have no food or running water. There is no gasoline.
This is what New York voted for. This is what America voted for.
The storm hit America on October 29th, and now, almost two weeks later, a quarter of a million people are still without power.
Americans voted for a government that encourages complete dependence on the government in good times and in times of disaster. It's not working out very well is it.
"Another neighborhood resident, Joseph Williams, said that the home care aide who normally helps look after his 27-year-old son, who has cerebral palsy and needs a wheelchair, hasn't been able to visit since the storm. After days of trying to take care of him himself, in a flooded high-rise with no utilities, Williams gave up and carried him down seven flights, so he could be evacuated to Brooklyn."
Americans, in one of the richest states in America, are "living like animals".
Welcome to your first few weeks of the next four years, America. The President may need an even spiffier bomber jacket when he pays his next visit to the area.
And he should also bring a giant drool bucket for Gov. Christie as well if he goes to NJ. I think they sell those at the Obama On Line store.

America the Infantile
Record numbers of Americans are now on food stamps.
Did you think the "surge" would always refer to Iraq?
If you thought so-you'd be wrong.
Meet the food stamp surge of America.
One out of every five Americans is enrolled in Medicaid.
Lefties like to talk about "sustainability".
In what universe is this kind of nanny state dependency sustainable?

Caroline Glick: A Time for Courage and Action
From the great Caroline Click, the supremely astute writer and indefatigable Jewish warrior:
A Time For Courage And Action
"Conservatives need to prepare the ground for their return to power. They need to make the arguments for ending the welfare state. They need to make the arguments for destroying the ascendant – and politically savvy – forces of jihad at home and abroad. They need to argue against defense cuts even as the Obamaappointed Joint Chiefs of Staff abandon strategic reason for personal promotions."
"And they need to write the books, produce the movies, found the television stations, and prepare the school curricula that will enable a future resurrection of the American dream."

Andrew Klavan: The Long Game
A very thoughtful piece by Andrew Klaven at City Journal.
I think there are many pillars of rot in our society.
Culture of course is one, as Klaven points out.
But really, without a reform of the public school system, Western culture cannot really survive and prosper. The long game, thus requires a comprehensive effort to reclaim the public school system and force teachers to educate and not indoctrinate.
Conservatives cannot change everything at once. Concerted efforts should be made to focus on specific pillars-just as Andrew Breitbard Z"L did with the media.

News America Can Use
Finally-a good idea from the UK (seems like the last ones were the Magna Carter and anything said or done by Churchill-but anyway...).
The UK is ending financial aid to India, recognizing that they actually don't need it. In fact, India may well start having to send financial aid back to the UK.
America might consider the same strategy with China.
Yes.
I said China, and all the other corrupt and disgusting, totalitarian, terrorist regimes that receive jizyah payments in American dolllars.
Behold: Four Billion Dollars to the Palestinians.
I know that mere "billions" are really just chump change for the Sixteen Trillion Dollar Man, but hey, a girl can dream-can't she?

No Tears for Benghazi
Not one tear was shed for the Americans murdered in Benghazi.
Not a single tear from the Commander In Chief.
Until now.
What a disgrace.
From Psalm 4:
O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be put to shame, in that ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Selah.

The Election is Over, a Nobody Copt Filmmaker is in Jail
What has America become?
Read this entire creepy article.
Here's a few points that really freaked me out:
"Youssef pleaded no contest in 2010 to bank fraud charges for using phony Social Security numbers to open bank and credit card accounts, according to court documents. He was sentenced to 21 months in federal prison and ordered not to use computers or the Internet for five years without prior authorization."
That is nuts. How can a government possibly expect to supervise compliance with such a ridiculous condition? Might as well have forbid him to eat chocolate ice cream for all the good a condition like that does.
Here is what a US Assistant District Attorney-one Robert Dugdale-had to say:
"While denying the 14-minute video clip "Innocence of Muslims" -- also known as "Desert Warrior" -- had anything to do with the probation matter, Dugdale said Youssef had "betrayed" the actors who appeared in the film by not telling them he was a "recently released convicted felon."
Since when do US Assistant District Attorney's get involved with personal betrayals? Nuts.
"Also, before uploading the film -- which portrays the Prophet Muhammad as a womanizer and child abuser -- Youssef had dubbed inflammatory dialogue in place of words actually spoken by the actors, Dugdale said.
"He made that choice for other people," the prosecutor said."
"Such behavior illustrated Youssef's "long-standing pattern of deception," Dugdale said."
So now dubbing a video is a federal crime in America? NUTS.
Few people care about this story at all, but I certainly won't forget it.
I actually think President Obama's relatives in America have been involved in just as many disgraceful legal shenanigans than this two-bit conman film-making schmuck.

One Smart Comment
Most Jews vote liberal because they are liberals who merely culturally Jewish, they do not religiously identify with Judaism. They are liberals first, and they just happen to have been born Jewish. Their religion is liberalism, and as Dennis Prager pointed out-they ethnically identify as Jews.
There were some gains in Jewish support for the Republican party.
This comment explains.
"the likelihood of Jews voting Republican is directly proportional to their Jewish commitment"
Exactly.

And rightly so.
Why?
"Left wing Democrats solemnly assure us that election fraud is not a problem, a sure sign that they know it is."
Here's a thought:
If government-that group of individuals whose vocation enables them to be "trusted" with our hard-earned tax dollars-cannot be trusted to properly run and execute an election without voter intimidation, errors, fraud, and violence-why on earth would you want them running any aspect whatsoever of your personal life?

"Records from the national archives show she was the first female wireless operator sent to Nazi-occupied France during World War II. After evading capture for three months, the spy was imprisoned, tortured and eventually shot by the German Gestapo at Dachau concentration camp in 1944."
"Her final word - uttered as the German firing squad raised their weapons - was simple."

Miracles
My son can't speak.
When I started to read about his particular syndrome, and meet other parents around the world that have children with the same syndrome, this is absolutely the one feature that terrified me more than all the others.
What did that mean, he might not be able to speak?
Me-someone who actually makes a living by writing words, speaking words, editing words-I might have a child that could never speak to me? Why?
It's very hard for a parent to grasp that idea. That is not to say that he couldn't communicate, but he can't speak in words. I can see him thinking, but something in the wiring of his brain prevents him from being able to turn his thoughts and desires into words. That also does not mean that he doesn't understand words-he does. Lots of them.
So for years, we learned the language of speech pathologists, did signs, and picture cards, and let him physically guide our adult hands to what he needed.
But assistive technology has made miracles happen for people with disabilities. Particularly with communication. The iPad has hundreds of apps that help people with disabilities "speak". It's quite remarkable.
The other night, we took out his fairly new communication device. It's called a Vantage. It's a very impressive, high tech personal device.
I asked my son if he wanted to say anything.
He quickly navigated on the push screen to his social page.
"I love you."
"Congratulations!"
He smiled, and I pressed "I love you", and gave him a big hug.
Then he "told" me a knock knock joke.
One press for the joke, then he waited for me to say "who's there".
Another press for the punchline-with perfect comic timing-he actually gave me a look, paused and then hit the button.
I laughed-it was a good one, and then he pressed "that's funny".
Sometimes in the midst of the non-stop grind of work and family and politics and the basics of your food and shelter, laundry and chores, you have to double down and make an even greater effort to appreciate the truly glorious.
A whole new world of communication is opening up for a very special little guy.
He's got a voice. He's speaking.
I'm so very grateful.

Hate Speech Laws Are Not Necessary-Defamation and Libel Laws Work Perfectly Well
I found this article very interesting.
A woman in Ottawa who had never blogged or written a restaurant review had a crappy meal, and crappy service at a restaurant and posted an on-line review, under her own name.
The restaurant owner was not very happy about that and proceeded with an extensive, intensive, time-consuming online harrassment and defamation campaign against the reviewer that was really obnoxious, crazy, defamatory and ultimately completely self-defeating.
A psychologist notes:
"Revenge, he says, operates like a powerful craving".
“People who are in the thrall of the desire for revenge are in the thrall of an insatiable appetite. They look like people who are trying to get a fix of some kind of drug.” He says brain scans of people who are plotting revenge are similar to the scans of people with drug cravings."
Personally, I feel that there is no such thing as revenge. No action takes away pain, no action can change the past. Forgiveness is liberating and means you can live in the present and for the future.
There are many interesting lessons that can be gleaned from this article.
First of all, it shows that people who make enough of an ass of themselves on line may just find themselves against formidable opponents who do not wish to be bullied and will kick their asses-hard.
The restauranteur was criminally charged, convicted of libel and can face up to 5 years in jail.
I wonder if they serve massive sh&t sandwiches at her restaurant because that is all that's on the menu for that woman today.
Also, there are people who are not afraid to keep publishing and posting, with their real names, and won't be intimidated by the weirdos out there. And after several years of anonymous blogging, I'm happy to be in the company of the people who use their real names. It's a riskier life, but far more satisfying and effective.
Yeah, I'm a conservative: so what?
Yeah, I'm a married, heterosexual Jew with children: so what?
This article demonstrates something very important:
It shows that 'hate crime' and 'hate speech' laws are completely redundant in democracies when libel, defamation and criminal harassment laws are properly applied by the police and that the judiciary does punish citizens with the full force of the law when they undertake this type of behaviour.

Never, Ever, Ever Be Sick or Old in the United Kingdom
They will just kill you. Even if you want to live. Even if your family wants you to live.
The National Health Service in the United Kingdom will kill your elderly relatives and call it a Pathway to Care.
Can we call it murder now?

Hat tip: Drudge
Also, if you haven't watched this video about Benghazi, then you really should. It shows just how scummy and disgusting this re-elected Obama team is. Watch Mark Steyn and others on Brett Baier's Special on Libya.
You need to educate yourself about Benghazi, and then do something about getting your President impeached.
If the conservative movement in America would like to redeem itself in any way for going squishy again (two for two, McCain was the same), it could start by getting the impeachment ball rolling.
I am so happy to be living in Canada where we have a truly dignified, insightful leader.

The Fiscal Cliff Looms
I'm sure this is nothing to be terribly concerned about.
Financial stocks in America cringing.
Have you ever heard "cringe" used to describe the behaviour of the market?
No worries-really nothing to be concerned about.
Just take another hit of your Hope N' Change and hit the snooze button.
Don't pay attention to the red boxes with the minus signs, mmmmmmmmkay?????
The 'fiscal cliff' is upon you, my American friends.

Most Excessive Presidency Ever EVAH EVAH
I thought only cockroaches were supposed to be able to survive a nuclear war.
Apparently, I was wrong.

Well Played, Jason Kenney and Canadian Friends of Haifa University
Finally!
Some time to review the delightful evening spent in the company of the Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism at the Mt. Carmel dinner hosted by the Canadian Friends of Haifa University. The dinner was held this past Sunday evening in Toronto.
I'll set the stage. The hubby and I parked not far from the hotel and as we approached, I could hear the bongos beating. We took a quick look, but I didn't think that I would be very popular in that crowd so we went past the many, many security officers and headed up to the cocktail reception.
Eye Crazy was outside and his excellent post on the zombie protesters can be found here.
Two slightly demented-seeming moron protesters, who looked like major league farbrentah shvesters, managed to get into the hotel and to the entrance to the main dining hall. They had signs that were black (oooh scary) and said something like 'Kenney dishonours Holocaust survivors'.
I did not appreciate their presence!
So, I went up to security, pointed to them and said "excuse me, these people are ruining our party" and lo and behold, the the ferbrentah shvesters were quickly ushered out by security. Of course the TV camera followed the disheveled duo, as if they had had a major impact on the evening.
Figures.
There were so many incredible people there-truly the brightest lights in Canada and from so many different spheres-politics, finance, non-profit, religious leaders, activists, journalists, philanthropists-the guest list was really impressive.
The schmoozing was very high level.
I made a new friend that night!
It was kind of cool that people came up to me and said that they enjoyed the SUN TV clip that I did with Michael Coren before the dinner. Michael was there with his lovely wife and I have to say-the SUN TV table was full of some very fine looking folks-all decked out for the evening and they looked like they were having a great time.
Here's Brian Lilley and Michael Coren doing some follow up about the dinner, talking about the mentality of the protesters and the inside environment also.
Our table had some very interesting people and I also had a chance to meet the dignitaries from Haifa University. There was an awesome buzz in the room, and so much goodwill toward the Minister himself-on a personal and professional level.
Jason Kenney-ahem-Dr. Kenney gave a delightful and insightful speech.
He's a Catholic from Western Canada, but now he's kind of a Jewish doctor!!
(Unreported in the news: the throngs of Bubbies and Zaidies, phoning their children and grandchildren on speed dial: "Oy, have I got a match for you-he's young, handsome, a Jewish doctor!!)
(Ahem, Dr. Kenney-relax...No briss required-just sayin...)
What kind of an awesome country do we live in?!? I mean COME ON!
Yay, Canada!
Here's a really neat thing-people clapped out of control loudly whenever Prime Minister Stephen Harper was mentioned. It did my heart good. It made me a little hopeful that there are growing numbers of Jewish Canadians who realize that this government is the best friend of Israel and the Canadian Jewish community that we could ever possibly have.
This is a government that understands the sickness of antisemitism, and the rot that it creates in the hearts of men. This is a government that understands that Israel is the new Jew, and the only real protection that the Jewish nation has against another Holocaust.
This is a government and a Minister that will have no part of the oldest hatred, or tolerance of the oldest hatred.
The applause, as I said was truly amazing, especially because I would bet a lot of those people-my people-JOOOS-were lifelong Liberal (or worse-ugh, NDP) voters for most of their lifetimes.
But that is changing. Mark my words.
There were various dignitaries on the dais, including Bob Rae.
Regretfully, I must point out that he was the only one on the dais who did not applaud when Prime Minister Harper's praises were sung. He looked tremendously uncomfortable at that stage.
Pity-in my view, when you attend these kind of events, you put on your happy face, walk the walk and clap the clap. Doing otherwise brings a petty spirit to the party.
So, well played, Canadian Friends of Haifa University-and a special shout out to Hetty Shaprio, Executive Director. It was a pleasure to attend and like all good things, went by so quickly! Really, a night to remember.
Kol Hakavod!

"And that's when he saw me again, and he chased me down and shot me,"
All, while yelling Allahu Akbar.
Three years later, the jihadist massacre is still officially called "workplace violence".
Allahu Akbar-the new cry for workman's compensation and work-life balance coaching?
This is a guy who publicly shared a jihadist "how to" Power Point presentation. People were too scared of being reprimanded for telling the truth about their concerns about his mental stability and their fears about his associations with extremists to say anything.
Thus, Americans in uniform were murdered by "one of their own". Clearly though, he was not one of their own.
His boss was not Uncle Sam.
The survivors are suffering.
Never forget.

If you would like to read something that will chill you to the bone, read this transcript from CNN-it's an interview by Anderson Cooper with the bereaved parents of the Americans who were murdered in Benghazi.
Really-read the whole thing to give you an accurate picture of who is leading your fine country.
COOPER: So you don't even know the cause of death?
SMITH: I don't even know if that's true or not. No, I don't. I don't know where. I look at TV and I see bloody hand prints on walls, thinking, my god, is that my son's? I don't know if he was shot. I don't know -- I don't know. They haven't told me anything. They are still studying it. And the things that they are telling me are just outright lies.
That Susan Rise, what -- she talked to me personally and she said, she said, this is the way it was. It was -- it was because of this film that came out.
COOPER: So she told you personally that she thought it was a result of that video of the protest?
SMITH: Oh, absolutely. Absolutely. In fact all of them did. All of them did. Leon Panetta actually took my face in his hands like this and he said, trust me. I will tell you what happened. And so far, he's told me nothing. Nothing at all. And I want to know.
COOPER: It's important for you to know all the details no matter how horrible.
SMITH: Yes.
COOPER: Or no matter how tough they are to hear.
SMITH: Exactly. I told him, if it's such a secret thing, fine, take me in another room, whisper in my ear what happened so that I know, and we'll go from there. But no. No, they -- you know, they treat me like -- at first I was so proud because they were treating me so nice when I went to that reception. They all came up to me and talked to me and everything. I cried on Obama's shoulder. And he -- then he'd kind of looked off into the distance.
So that was worthless to me. I want to know, for god's sakes. Or for Allah's sake or whoever's sake is there.
COOPER: You deserve -- you deserve answers.

Hello America-We've Come to the End of the Cake
A very good read-thanks to the Talkin Kamel for sending it my way:
"I am here to tell you that we are broke. Not only are we broke, we are stone cold broke...Our country is broke, our cities are broke, our states are broke too – though broke might be too kind a word to explain the state of California. We need another word Uber-broke, perhaps."
Yet:
"One of the things that money hasn’t gone to is to have kids and raise kids. Most people simply can’t afford kids. And those who can, by working two jobs, don’t see the point of having kids for strangers to raise...No one is lending to us anymore. We’re printing money and lending to ourselves. This is sort of like cutting off your leg and making a roast. That money is devaluing the money in every saving account throughout the land. It’s making all of us poorer."
Terribly depressing-but accurate.
However, my prediction is-and I am loathe to say it: FOUR MORE YEARS.

Big Government is Killing America
A Virginia businessman was hit with a $4000 fine for not having a trash can covered.
And how about this?
Martha Boneta hosted a birthday party for eight 10-year-old girls — an occasion for which she lacked the proper "events permit." For this, the county slammed her with a $5,000 fine.
A country that crushes individual citizens by fining the minutia of their lives and business, cannot lead the free world.
The push back has to happen at the micro level.
The fine should not be paid, and appealed to the courts at the highest levels.
And how about this?
This is clearly the most expensive pee pee EVER MADE IN AMERICA!
Bottle that stuff-I've never heard of pish going for US $3000 per fluid ounce.
People always say "someone's gotta do something about that".
You know what?
That someone is you.
So just do it.

That's one heckuva clean up you're organizing there, Mr. Mayor.
A simple question from the residents of New York:
When are we going to get some help?
Unanswerable by the billionaire mayor of one of the most glorious cities on the planet!
Ho hum!
"Some Rockaways residents who work as firefighters in The Bronx and Manhattan were fuming yesterday — sitting idly in their firehouses while their neighbors and family members miles away struggled to get help.
“We’re all going crazy,” said one firefighter, who asked his name not be used for fear of retribution."
“They’re not deploying any extra resources, and we’re just sitting around.”

My Idiot People
A few worthwhile articles to share with you. One from one of my favourite analysts: the Great Caroline Glick, who discusses President Obama's misogyny and decidedly anti-Israel and anti-Jewish attitudes and policies.
Then, a short essay from Harry Stein shedding some light on the Jews who continue to vote Democratic.
Lastly, an essay from Martin Kramer about the facts regarding Democratic strong-arming of Israel. He simply eviscerates the pro-Obama Ephraim Halevy (a former head of the Mossad) who has been shilling lately for President Obama.
That Kramer piece is FANTASTIC. I learned a lot from it-you will, too.

Here is a beautifully written article by Joe O'Connor.
I have to say, Joe O'Connor is definitely one of the best writers at the National Post. I am never disappointed by his feature articles, he has an engaging style that never fails to draw me in, and I highly recommend that you read this article.
Meet Jack Ford-a Canadian WW2 vet, who took some incredible pictures during the D-Day invasion of Europe.
A stunning historical record, and a feisty, fine gentleman who makes me proud to be Canadian.
The pictures are absolutely incredible.
Read it all!

Meet Jack Ford-a Canadian WW2 vet, who took some incredible pictures during the D-Day invasion of Europe.
A stunning historical record, and a feisty, fine gentleman who makes me proud to be Canadian.
The pictures are absolutely incredible.

Too Little Too Late
But it looks like this is the slow beginning of the end of Chinese gendercide.
A generation of young Chinese men, are unable to find wives because they were murdered inside and outside their mothers' wombs.
One can only pray that the souls of the millions of murdered girls are hopefully resting in peace.

Steyn: Biggest Most Bloated Government EVAH EVAH Cannot Keep the Lights On
With the requisite "read it all" advice.
Steyn is right on the money.
I had the experience this week of hearing someone describe how despite the fact that people bash government, storms like this demonstrate just how much we need government. Yet the biggest, most bloated bureaucracy in the free world, as Steyn notes, cannot keep the lights on or the fuel lines running.
"Even in those few parts of the Northeast that can legitimately claim to have been clobbered by Sandy, Big Government made it worse. Last week, Nanny Bloomberg, Mayor of New York, rivaled his own personal best for worst mayoral performance since that snowstorm a couple of years back."
"This is a man who spends his days micromanaging the amount of soda New Yorkers are allowed to have in their beverage containers rather than, say, the amount of ocean New Yorkers are allowed to have in their subway system – just as, in the previous crisis, the municipal titan who can regulate the salt out of your cheeseburger proved utterly incapable of regulating any salt on to Sixth Avenue.
"Imagine if this preening buffoon had expended as much executive energy on flood protection for the electrical grid and transit system as he does on approved quantities of carbonated beverages. But that's leadership 21st-century style: When the going gets tough, the tough ban trans fats."
OMG that's gotta hurt!!
So true.

Concerns About Mentally Disabled Being Exploited for Votes
"Jimmy Green's stepdaughter had never voted before. The 57-year-old is mentally disabled, and Green said she doesn't understand the concept of casting a ballot."
"But this week, she called her parents to say she had voted for President Obama."
"The care home in Fayetteville where she lives registered its residents to vote and drove them to the polls, Green said."
"My concern is that somebody told her who to vote for," he said. "She didn't even know there's two different parties."

Must Read: The Rossett Report on the Benghazi Timeline
An excellent piece: Claudia Rossett pieces together the timeline of the President's whereabouts and the happenings in Benghazi.
Read the whole thing-well worth your time.
The whole thing is appalling, and the cover-up is unraveling.

Hey-There's Me on Michael Coren's Show-The Arena
That was a lot of fun, thanks Michael!
In this clip, we talk about the usual gang of morons who will be protesting Jason Kenney on Sunday night in Toronto.
I am really looking forward to a fantastic evening and am delighted to have an opportunity to honour such an outstanding Canadian.

That's One Heckuva Clean Up Job!
Middle class New Yorkers dumpster diving.
That's really one heckuva clean up job. I hear that NYC marathoners will have enough water, though.
Remember the operating question:
Are you better off than four years ago? Answer: NO.
Food stamp growth in America is 75 times greater than job creation.

Arab Spring Alert!
Hope N' Change-Egyptian style.
"Islamiya, Islamiya," the protesters chanted in Cairo's Tahrir Square, the centre of the uprising that toppled Hosni Mubarak who spent 30 years keeping a tight lid on Islamists."
Arab Spring working out really, really well!
Oddly enough, women still having some "issues" on Egyptian streets (when they are allowed out).
"Egypt's president acknowledged the widespread problem of sexual harassment in his country Tuesday, ordering his interior minister to investigate a rash of assaults during a just-completed Muslim holiday."

Dreams of Affirmative Action And Permanent Victimhood
The Blaze has a very interesting story up today about President Obama's academic rather inglorious academic history.
Long, but well worth a read.

The Jewish Refugees of Egypt
The Jews of Arab lands were often prosperous, and had land, good jobs and servants.
So very many of them escaped Muslim countries only with the clothes on their backs, lucky to be alive.
They are still fighting for the property and lands that were confiscated from them, and this will be a long, drawn out, fruitless battle. I doubt there will ever be a resolution to this issue.
Kudos to Legal Insurrection for reporting on this story from the Times of Israel.
"Egyptian authorities confiscated some 1.7 million documents reportedly proving Jewish ownership of land and assets in Cairo. The documents were reportedly about to be shipped out of the country to Israel, in what the Egyptian daily Al-Ahram is calling “the most dangerous case of security breach in history.”
"The source noted that some of the documents, containing Jewish ownership deeds for banks, companies and real estate, date back to 1863. The documents are now being held by Egypt’s general prosecution."

Welcome to Socialized Medicine
Where the value of your life is decided by anonymous bureaucrats.
"OHIP declined to pay for Erika’s surgery, although her parents, Darren and Michelle, continue to appeal that decision. The final bill for diagnosis, multiple tests, Erika’s hospital stay, and travel and lodging for her parents is expected to be at least $90,000."
"On Oct. 9, a neurosurgeon in Maryland shaved part of her skull and some vertabrae, realigned her skull and spine and used one of Erika’s ribs to stabilize her neck. "

College Allows Transgendered Man to Expose Himself to Young Girls
Educators-your moral superiors!
"According to a police report, the mother of a 17-year-old girl complained after her daughter saw the transgender individual walking naked in the locker room. A female swim coach confronted the man sprawled out in a sauna exposing himself. She ordered him to leave and called police."
"The coach later apologized when she discovered the man was transgendered but explained there were girls using the facility as young as six years old who weren’t used to seeing male genitals."
I only report the news.
