MAIS OUI!
France is a basket case. Too bad-great wine, cheese, lovely language, countryside, gorgeous women and stylish men who are well dressed, BUT I DIGRESS.
From Gatestone-France sucks!
Anyway, my French peeps once told me some of the secrets of French style. And, they are pretty good tips, so we are going to digress back to style now.
For women-you must have a stylish scarf.
The more well to do you are, the more expensive the scarf. Buy not the knock off! A French woman would prefer to save for 5 or 10 years for the Hermes scarf, rather than wear something cheap looking. The scarf can be worn in many ways, around the neck, knotted, loose around the neck, even knotted on one's purse.
The other things they invest in are:
- The white blouse. The fitted, 100% cotton white blouse. The best you can afford-always.
- The navy fitted blazer. Navy first and then black when you can afford it.
- The black pencil skirt. This must also be fitted. Do not get a size that makes you look like a tent. French women are generally much slimmer than American women, however-many American women do not buy properly fitting clothing.
- Good lingerie. These are also investment pieces. Again, get fitted-no guessing.
- One good, tote-sized purse. This should be able to fit MOST of your daily stuff. Leather, no dangling pieces, no gold, no futzy stuff. Plain as possible. Again, an investment piece.
- Choose a fragrance-NOT a cheap one, pretty much for life. Again, better to save for years than to purchase something disgusting. Cheap smelling women, well-just UGH, blech, yuck. No dousing. Better just to be clean.
YOU'RE WELCOME!
