Inasmuch As Jews Have Preserved the Sabbath, the Sabbath Has Preserved the Jews

There is nothing like the Jewish Shabbat.

There is a white tablecloth on the table.

The table is set. There is challah, there is Kiddush wine, there is silverware.

The house smells like chicken soup (with matzah balls-DOUBLE PLUS AWESOME).

The banana cake was made this morning to have tomorrow with coffee before services.

The chicken in the oven. Soon things get quiet and the candles will be lit.

We will bless the candles, the wine, the children, the food.

I highly recommend the Sabbath to everyone. It's a good thing.
