The Death of Childhood

An 11 year old American girl was founding "sexting" images of herself.

The end of innocence.

What would we do without experts? Here's what a pediatrician ("expert") had to say:

“The biggest thing parents can do to prevent this from happening is to be aware of what their kids are doing,”

YEAH DUH!!

But here's the more worrying part, and obviously the most incredibly STUPID part:

"Police are continuing to investigate. They say the person who received the texts is older than the girl.
She is also being charged under the new sexting law — which makes it a summary offense."

What kind of solution is it to charge an 11 year old girl with a summary offense for doing something stupid, as a result of her likely having been groomed and encouraged to do so-for the "crime" of not having parents properly supervise her, or be aware of her activities?

Charging the child for having parents who were clueless?

Insanity.
