The Militarization of Domestic Policing in America: Take Down Granny Edition

So, you're a little old lady from Texas who is pro-life and you go to a pro-life demonstration.

BAD MOVE, GRANNY.

The whole video is disturbing-especially the "you're hurting me" part. Watch the video and see what you think.

But then, this part of the police statement is also really revealing.

"DPS Troopers work every day to ensure all visitors and staff at the Texas Capitol remain safe and that order is maintained."

I am very suspicious every time I hear the word "safe" used nowadays.

It seems to me that it usually indicates the right of the police to shut down politically incorrect speakers, demonstrations and unpopular views. Everything for "safe" space.

"Safe" is pre-emptive censorship and state-sanctioned bullying.

It's particularly annoying when used in conjunction with fascist "anti-bullying" movements and in schools. "Safe" space, this "safe" space that. Umm...could you please just teach my kid how to read and write and do math? I'll worry about "safety".

The gym where I work out is a "safe" space. Safe from what? Are people totally nuts?
