A woman in the UK has been jailed. Yes-jailed! Incarcerated for Ranting While Racist! This is totally unbelievable.
“Judge
Michael Snow sentenced Woodhouse to 21 weeks in jail on Tuesday in London,
saying that anyone hearing her "grossly offensive" language would
feel a "deep sense of shame."
"Woodhouse - who had turned herself in to police after the
footage began to circulate - had pleaded guilty to one count of causing
racially aggravated harassment, alarm or distress by using threatening,
abusive or insulting words or behavior.”
This is a really frightening
development.
How long before we see it here in Ontario/Canada/America?
This is especially worrying given that Bernie
Farber is going to be our new Human Rights Overlord.
I am sure there are plenty of people who would like to jail people because of their unpopular opinions and for insulting people with "grossly offensive" language that made people feel a "deep sense of shame".
This is NUTS. Totally nuts.
Someone in the "civilized" world has been incarcerated for hurt feelings.
What are we going to do about it?
