Wente: Is Anybody Normal Anymore?

This is a very good article by Margaret Wente from the Globe & Mail.

Nowadays, everything needs a label. Everyone wants to be special. Everyone wants their special quirks to be recognized as unique and something truly extraordinary.

Where boys were once boys, they are now judged to have ADD and stuffed with drugs that fry their brains.

Bad stuff happens in life. Not everything has a name or a cure. Not every blip needs a drug.

It's terrible how many people self-medicate to "treat" regular life conditions. It's disgusting how complicit the medical and pharmaceutical industries are in these crime against humanity.

Yes, many people are "normal". It's just not as celebrated in our society. And that's a real pity.
