As We Approach Yom Kippur: Joan Rivers' High Holiday Sermon

Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, begins sundown Friday night and ends Saturday night after sunset.

There are all kinds of thoughtful links about forgiveness and I'll probably post some in the next day or so, but for now, I wanted to share this really nice article by Avi Mayer, who brings in Joan Rivers z"l, to talk about the Jewish people, the "we". Very nicely done.

It's a lovely essay and I also clicked onto the YouTube video of Joan's Top Ten Reasons to Love Israel-which I hadn't seen before. (It doesn't look like many people have seen it, as of this morning it only had about 24,000 views. It's very cute, should go a little more viral!)

Now Lior Schleien is a truly insufferable, smug, leftist lovely soul/bleeding heart ("yefe nefesh") from Tel Aviv who thinks he is really smart but is actually pretty unsophisticated and unintelligent, but kudos to him for snagging Joan Rivers and getting this great clip. That's the only nice thing I can say about him so I'll stop there. Well, I also want to say that the show is horrifically stupid and obnoxious. OK. Now I will REALLY stop.

Enjoy.
