Puzzled NRO Writer Writes: A Mother Choosing Death Over Life-"Who Can Explain This?"

When I saw the title of the article I thought I would check it out.

But alas, I find it to be particularly gutless-especially the conclusion.

If you want to see what passes for intellectual "conservative" commentary on Islamic terror, read this.

The conclusion is so stupid, it's kind of monstrous.

"A mother whose soul is so dark that she calmly, deliberately, chooses mass murder over mothering — who can explain it?"

A lot of people can explain this to you, but you should probably be able to figure it out to yourself. I assume you have heard of the internet and Google? What is the source of the "dark soul", my friend?

The only mention of "Islam" in this article is this:

"One of those victims was 52-year-old Nicholas Thalasinos. His friend Kuuleme Stephens told the Associated Press she happened to call Thalasinos while he was at work and having an office discussion with the shooter. Thalasinos identified the man who would become the shooter by name and told her that the guy believed Islam was a peaceful religion."

This writer is too gutless to mention Islam, save a sentence about how one of the victims told a friend at work that the terrorist thought Islam was a peaceful religion.

Wow. Pathetic. Amazingly obtuse.

There is a real death cult in our world, inspired by scripture. It's transnational, and is showing no signs of slowing down.

"Who can explain it?"

Who can not and will not understand "it"?

Those are better questions.

You're welcome.
