A 9 year old girl from Colorado shaved her head in solidarity with her classmate who is fighting cancer and had just started chemotherapy.
The little cancer warrior said this of her friend:
“I was really excited I would have somebody to support me and I wouldn’t
be alone with people always laughing at me. I would at least have
somebody to go through it all,” says Delaney, who just began
chemotherapy.
What did the school do?
Refused to let her attend school, because her shaved head violated the school's policy on shaved heads.
Apparently, with media attention, the school has backtracked.
As I always say: Common sense. NOT SO COMMON.
