Mazel Tov: I Made It Through "Winter Break"

HOLY CRAP 2 WEEKS IS A LONG TIME AND REMIND ME WHY TEACHERS NEED HALF A MONTH OFF SCHOOL?!?!

Anyway, apologies-yesterday was too busy to blog if you can imagine.

All kids off school, on "staycation" (seriously-who invented that hellish phrase) for the past couple of weeks. Mostly, it went smoothly, with small activities-no big adventures and me mostly filling the household role of scullery maid. However, the kids were all good and happy, so I can't really complain.

Things just got way, way, way busy yesterday with Sabbath preparations.

The day started with me frying eggplant, making banana chocolate chip muffins and barbecuing liver on my porch, in my PJs, in the -7C weather so that we would have chopped liver for Shabbat dinner.

YES, I actually did this.

My poor husband asked me-and this after 21 years of marriage (last week was our 21st anniversary)- what I thought the neighbours would think of me in PJs, on the porch, grilling liver at such an ungodly hour!?!?

He got my standard answer: IMAGINE HOW MUCH I CARE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK.

Anyway, I'm just catching up now and have the whooooooole evening to get some links together.

So pull up a chair while I see what the rest of the world has been up to while I have been on "break".
